BRIEF HISTORY
Founded on October 5th, 1986 by Archbishop P. E. Ekpu, Archbishop of Benin-City.

Forty (40) students took residence in a white storey building along Afuda Road – Uromi (courtesy of Chief Anthony Anenih). The next day, they resumed classes at Ogbidi Learning Centre, Uromi (temporal site).

The late Sir A. I. Eigbe was the pioneer Principal with seven members of staff only.

Today, Lumen Christi has a student population of 566 and staff strength of 98. With the creation of Uromi Diocese in December, 2005 and subsequent erection of the diocese on February 25th, 2006, Most Rev (Dr.) Augustine Obiora Akubeze became the first bishop of the new diocese and thus, proprietor of Lumen Christi International high School.
